China Teaching Network

中 国 教 的 网 络

Over the centuries the cultures of East and West have often been in conflict. But as the twenty-first century arrived, there came an opportunity for new beginnings. The China Teaching Network was created to assist people in both cultures develop an improved appreciation and understanding of one another.

The site was developed by Kimberley Taylor in cooperation with Xuyan, a colleague in China who shared firsthand cultural knowledge and insight. Together they built a cross-cultural teaching resource designed to help Chinese audiences understand Western culture — American history, government, holidays, music, and daily life — while giving Western audiences a window into the depth and richness of Chinese civilization.

The China Teaching Network is a companion to the Cyborlink international business etiquette site, approaching cross-cultural understanding from the other direction: not just how Westerners should behave in China, but how Chinese and Western cultures can genuinely learn from one another.

The site remains live at its original home on the internet and is presented here as part of Cyborlink’s commitment to preserving and sharing cross-cultural resources.
